ChronX Protocol

Protocol Governance

Every parameter that governs ChronX — constants sealed at genesis, governed protocol parameters, and Essential Protocol Partner directives — is publicly visible here. No private decisions. No hidden rules.

Constants Sealed at Genesis

Sealed into the genesis of the live chain (7fd9138c, 2026-09-10). No person or governance body can change them by a vote. Protocol rules can change only through the documented upgrade process — the CH1 fix-forward is one such upgrade.

Governed Parameters

Adjustable by founding governance, recorded on-chain. All changes are permanent and publicly verifiable — and the power to change them sunsets on the clocks in the transition table.

Essential Protocol Partner Directives

Current operational limits for each bonded partner. Updated by founding governance vote.

The Transition

Five Years, Then Governance by the People

ChronX launches under a bounded founding arrangement. The founding authority is temporary by design — each power carries its own sunset, measured from the sealed genesis event, and the protocol enforces the clocks.

Power Who holds it today Sunset What remains after
Define and update the governed registry (the short list of living parameters) Founding governance 5 years from sealed genesis Registry entries persist; Remove remains available. New Define/Upsert authority ends — the list can shrink, not grow by founding action.
Founder authority Founder 366 days from sealed genesis Expires permanently. No renewal path for this power.
Emergency halt power Founding governance 1,096 days from sealed genesis Expires. Ordinary participant governance continues without it.
The axioms, fixed supply, zero protocol fees Nobody — sealed No sunset Sealed at genesis and kept through the transition. Not changeable by any governance vote; protocol rules change only through the documented upgrade process.
Can the deadlines be extended? No. The sunsets are enforced by the protocol itself, not by promise. The founding arrangement cannot vote to prolong itself — that is what makes the cap a cap.
What does the five-year cap actually limit? Only the founding power to define and update the governed registry. It is not "all governance ends in five years" — participant governance continues, and registry removal remains possible. Emergency and founder powers sunset sooner, on their own clocks.
Who governs afterward? The participants. The same mechanism that records founding votes records participant decisions; the transition moves authority, not the ledger. Exact voting mechanics are part of the sealed manifest — this page restates, and does not amend, the protocol rules.
How do I verify this? Reconcile five things before trusting any single read: the authenticated chain identity, the sealed configuration, the record of authorized state changes, the source version, and independent observations. A live response is not automatically authoritative — a single compromised RPC endpoint can return confident, fresh, false data. If sources disagree, treat the disagreement itself as the finding and report it.

Founding Authority — and Its Limits

Every lever the founding arrangement holds — and every lever it does not. Permanent. Transparent. On clocks that expire.

✔ WHAT GOVERNANCE CONTROLS
Protocol Feature Gates
Which badge types may access TYPE P-R fractional reserve instruments. Currently: BANK, INSURANCE, GOVERNMENT. Governance adds or removes types without recompiling the protocol.
KXGC Reserve Parameters
Minimum reserve ratio KXGC must maintain (currently 100% — fully reserved). Any investment of KXGC capital is released only by governance action.
AI Agent Boundaries
Maximum investable fraction for any AI-managed mandate. Supported asset list. Executor withdrawal delay. Mandate size cap.
TYPE A Authority Bounds
Maximum leverage ratio KXGC may grant to Tier 1 participants. Maximum AI management fraction in any authority grant.
Verification Criteria
What qualifies a wallet for each badge level (GREEN, PURPLE, WHITE, GOLD). CPNX issues badges within these criteria. Foundation never issues individual badges except GOLD.
EPP Bond Actions
Foundation may submit a B-DrawRequest to return or slash an EPP bond. All DrawRequests are subject to the lock period set by the grantor at issuance (currently 30 days for all EPPs). The protocol enforces the lock. Governance cannot accelerate it.
Emergency Switches
Suspend TYPE P-R activity globally. Freeze new badge issuance if CPNX is compromised. Protocol halt (nuclear option — rejects all non-transfer actions).
✗ WHAT GOVERNANCE CANNOT DO
Move funds from any wallet
Only the wallet owner can initiate a transfer. No governance vote, court order, or Foundation action can move KX from a wallet without the owner’s private key.
Cancel or alter promises
Promise Axiom I: the grantor’s intent governs. Once a promise’s cancellation window closes, it is irrevocable. No governance action can cancel, redirect, or alter it.
Change the axioms
The eight protocol axioms are written into the sealed genesis manifest of the live chain (sha256 91ef3e11…, see Verify). No governance vote can alter them. Protocol rules can change only through the documented upgrade process, not by a governance vote.
Accelerate a DrawRequest lock
When a B-DrawRequest is submitted, the lock period is protocol-enforced. The Foundation cannot accelerate it. The board cannot override it. 30 days means 30 days.
Direct EPP operations
Governance cannot direct any EPP's operational decisions — what XChan lists, what HedgeKX protects, or what CPNX badges. Governance can only revoke their bond — and the threat of that is sufficient.
Alter completed loan terms
Credit Axiom I: no obligation exists without the explicit consent of both parties. Terms set at loan formation are governed by that consent. Governance cannot retroactively change interest rates, terms, or conditions of active loans.
Reset the genesis
The live chain's genesis (7fd9138c, 2026-09-10) is sealed: its manifest is marked genesis_cut: true and its hash is published. Governance has no action that replaces it. The owner's CH1 decision (2026-10-07) is to fix forward on this chain, with no re-genesis.
Every parameter governance can change is listed above on this page. Every parameter it cannot change is also listed above. The protocol enforces both lists. No private decisions. No hidden rules.
